Crowded streets, food for sale everywhere, girls wearing the best kimonos they got in their closets and the sound of “Getas”(a kind of sandal with an elevated wooden base held onto the foot with a fabric thong to keep the foot well above the ground.)- this is the best way to describe what it’s like during July-August in Japan. Foreigners like us enjoy this time of the year because factories have a one week vacation and everyone just go to a beach or have a picnic everywhere.
Yesterday, 31st of July, the Toyota City officers had a massive fireworks display! The show started at 7pm and ended at 9:30. There are VIP tickets that costs almost 10,000 Yen, but if you can’t afford it you can just sit outside the vip area and enjoy the show. No worries when it comes to food, far away from the stadium, there is a long chain of temporary stands selling various kinds of Japanese foods like: Mochi, yakisoba, kakigori(which is my fave), karagi(or fried chicken in a cup, and a lot more. Also, when you reach the gathering place, there are moooooore food for sale!

Me and my family had a great place to sit and wait for the show, even though it was so crowded, people don’t push or bump each other. That is the reason why I admire the Japanese attitude a lot. They are so disciplined.

After 2 hours waiting and walking around, the show finally started! We had so much fun.
I can possibly say that this is the best summer ever! I am expecting more and more fun stuffs to do till September.
